Grace to Continue...

Updated: Jan 3, 2020

Just because it's the start of a new year and a new decade doesn't mean you have to pressure yourself to start over. Give yourself grace to continue. Acknowledge all the successes you have had so far, no matter how small and insignificant they may seem to you. Also acknowledge all of the times you fell or failed or made a mistake and note all of the lessons you learned from these occasions. Take the lessons from the victories and the losses and use them as tools to propel you further each day. Reaching success is a continual process. Every year we get so caught up in all the rave of planning for the big changes that we expect to happen in the new year, and almost every year we end up disappointed in some way because some drastic change did not happen as we expected. What we fail to realise is that progress is a gradual process. There's often no single miracle event. Instead, achieving your ultimate goals is often about an accumulation of small victories over a prolonged period of time. And during this prolonged period of time, the setbacks and failures you encounter along the way do not nullify the progress you've made. Each and every aspect has been part of the learning experience. Each and every aspect has afforded you the keys necessary to accomplish this thing as you keep going. Often times we put so much pressure on ourselves to start over because what we want is perfection; for our journeys to be smooth, glamorous and filled with nothing but improvement. It's unnecessary pressure. Allow yourself to simply keep going, working continually each day to heal and propel. Before you even realize it, you will have reached your original goal. Be encouraged.

P.S. Happy New Year!! Wishing you a most prosperous and fulfilling year.
